Sugar Free Chocolate Candy Recipe

Lots of people love chocolate. However, some cannot enjoy sugary desserts because they have diabetes or are on a special diet. Sugar free desserts can be just as delicious and much healthier. There are so many reasons to avoid sugar, including its effect on blood glucose levels and your waistline. You can still have chocolate when you are on a sugar free diet thanks to sugar substitutes that taste just like the real thing. The following sugar free chocolate candy recipe can fulfill your craving for delicious chocolate with zero sugar:
You will need:
2 ounces unsweetened chocolate
1/4 cup margarine or butter
24 packets of sugar substitute (such as Equal, Splenda or Sweet N Low)
1 tsp vanilla extract
1 package cream cheese
1/2 cup pecans or walnuts, chopped
Melt the butter or margarine in a small saucepan over low heat. Gradually add the chocolate and stir frequently until melted. Take the saucepan off of the heat and stir in the vanilla and the sweetener. Add cream cheese and beat the mixture with an electric beater until smooth. Add the nuts last. Pour into a square pan and spread out until smooth. Chill overnight until firm.
Here is another recipe for scrumptious candy fudge that does not use sugar:
1 can evaporated milk
3 tbsp cocoa powder
1/4 cup butter
1 tbsp sugar substitute
Pinch of salt
1 tsp vanilla
13 oz. can skim evaporated milk
3 tbsp. cocoa
1/4 c. butter
1 tbsp. granulated sugar, replacement
Dash salt
Mix the milk and cocoa together and cook over low heat until cocoa is melted. Stir frequently. Mix in butter, sugar substitute, vanilla and salt. Boil over medium heat, stirring constantly. After boil is reached lower temperature and cook for two minutes while continuing to stir. Pour in square pan and let cool in refrigerator overnight until firm.
